Prevent Burnout

Your identity determines where your energy goes and comes from. Identity, meaning, who you believe yourself to be, and what gives you purpose.

An identity outside of one purely grounded in being a loved child of God, as described by the Bible, see verses below, is futile. It will be short-lived and result in burnout. That is because when we attem

pt to live in what we do and not through the eyes of God, we are sourcing our energy from ourselves and not from God. It goes against our intended design.

You may experience great success throwing your identity into a career, athletic endeavors, achievements, degree, parenthood, marriage, etc. However, it will leave you dissatisfied, tired, and burnt out.

So, how can you know when your identity is something other than who you are as a child of God? You will experience dissatisfaction and a lack of contentment. Contentment does not mean a loss of will to achieve but rather; grounding in a source of permanent purpose.

How do you begin identifying as a child of God? Begin simply by asking God for help.
